Test Results

If you are calling for test results, please only call after 14:00.

Test results can only be given over the phone to the patient themselves, unless written permission is given which states otherwise. The GPs see every result and provide advice based on these which may involve further tests or more GP consultations. Investigations requested by a hospital service may not be available to GPs.

If you have had a test taken in the hospital which was requested by your Consultant or Specialist, we do not routinely receive a copy of your results unless the Consultant/Specialist writes directly to your GP. Please contact the secretary of the Consultant/Specialist who requested the test to collect your results.

If you would like a friend or relative to be able to collect test results for you, please collect a consent form from reception. This form will require the details of the patient, the details of the person the patient wishes to nominate to collect their results and be signed and dated by the patient. This form can then be returned to the surgery to be added onto our system.
