At Bryn Darland we try to offer a range of appointments to suit all our patients. Most appointments are carried out by either telephone or Face to Face consultations

If you feel you may require a face-to-face appointment with a GP, please advise reception and they will endeavour to arrange a suitable appointment for you.

We offer early morning appointments starting at 8:30am ranging to late evening appointments (the latest 5:40pm) with both our Nurse Practitioner and GPs.

We also offer appointments with our Practice Phlebotomist daily, please contact reception to book.

To book an appointment, please contact reception on 01978 720285, or send through an Accurx request, alternatively appointments can be booked online from a text invite and soon via the NHS Wales App.

You can download the NHS Wales App to your device and set up an account, you can currently order repeat prescriptions.

Routine telephone appointments are 10 minutes duration, if you feel that you need a longer appointment than this, please let the receptionist know.  Appointments can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance.

If you are unable to attend for any reason, please phone and let the receptionist know so that your appointment can be released for another patient.

Urgent Appointments

All requests for urgent appointments will be triaged by our clinicians. Our Reception Team have been asked to gather as much information as possible about your condition to help our clinicians with the triage process.

We hold a number of urgent book on the day appointments which are available to be booked via reception from 8am on the morning. These appointments are for urgent advice/issues which are not able to wait until a routine appointment. If you require an urgent on the day appointment we request you contact the surgery as early as possible.

Please be aware our reception team may ask some information about your urgent medical condition to enable them to direct you to the most appropriate clinician.

When the surgery is closed please contact the Out of Hours Service on Tel: 0300 123 55 66 - this service is for emergencies only that cannot wait until the next working day.

Home Visits

The doctors will visit you at home if your medical condition prevents you from attending the surgery.

Please phone the surgery before 10.30am to request a visit giving the receptionist as much information as possible. The doctor may phone you after morning surgery to discuss this request.

Please remember that the doctor could see 4 patients in the surgery in the time it would take to attend a home visit and that they may not be able to bring to your home all the equipment that is available in the surgery to help deal with your medical condition. If it is possible to come to the surgery please do so.

THERE ARE SOME EMERGENCY CONDITIONS SUCH AS CHEST PAIN, SEVERE BREATHLESSNESS OR CHOKING WHEN AN AMBULANCE SHOULD BE CALLED ON 999. THE GP CANNOT ATTEND QUICKLY ENOUGH AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH THESE CONDITIONS APPROPRIATELY.
